8th Grade Welcomes You Home is a family-friendly fall tailgate and carnival designed to bring the SGGS community together for an afternoon of football, food, games, and fellowship while raising funds to support the 8th Grade Class.

The event, hosted by our 8th-grade students, will combine a traditional college football tailgate atmosphere with a chili cook-off and the annual 8th grade carnival.

Families can purchase a tailgate spot, bring their own chairs, enjoy live-streamed college football on large projection screens, participate in games, and enjoy food and activities for all ages.

THE AFTERNOON WILL INCLUDE:

Tailgate & Chili Cook-Off
Set up your own tailgate space and show off your best chili in our friendly Chili Cook-Off competition. Prizes for best in show for both chili and tailgate decorations!

College Football Tailgate
Enjoy college football streamed on large projection screens throughout the event area while you relax with family and friends.

Carnival Games
Our 8th graders will host a variety of carnival games, activities, and challenges for children of all ages.

Face Painting & Kids’ Activities
Get into the spirit with face painting, a candy table, and other fun activities hosted by our 8th Grade Class.

Bounce House
Enjoy a bounce house during the event for children of all ages.

Food & Treats
Admission will include food and refreshments, with additional snacks, sweets, and treats available for purchase throughout the afternoon.

This event is more than just a fundraiser. It is an opportunity for our 8th graders to lead, serve, welcome, and bring our school community together.

  • $60 — Tailgate Spot + Chili Cook-Off Entry (per family)
    • Reserved tailgate space
    • Bring your own tent, decorations, chairs, tables, food, etc.
    • 1 hot dog meal per person in your family
    • 2 unlimited game bands
    • Entry into the Chili Cook-Off
    • Opportunity to compete for chili cook-off bragging rights
      • Limited to 20 spots

Half Time Level

  • $50 — Tailgate Spot Only (per family)
    • Reserved tailgate space
    • Bring your own tent, decorations, chairs, tables, food, etc.
    • 1 hot dog meal per person in your family
    • 20 game tickets
    • Enjoy the football and event activities from your designated space

Kick Off Level

  • $40 — Ground-Level Admission (per family)
    • Bring your own chair
    • 1 hot dog meal per person in your family
    • 10 game tickets
    • Set up in the general ground-level viewing area
