Full-Time First Grade Teacher (Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School, Virginia Beach) – 

Description: Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School in Virginia Beach, VA is currently seeking enthusiastic and dynamic First Grade teacher for in-person teaching and learning for the 2021-2022 school year. Eligible candidates should possess or be able to apply for VA teacher license. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic role models who are passionate about sharing the Catholic faith, have experience in supporting student’s learning through developmentally appropriate educational activities and lessons, assessments and hands-on experiences. Create an inviting, meaningful and excellent learning environment. Work in partnership with other staff, parents, and students. Communicate effectively and demonstrate a commitment to advance the mission of the school.

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an approved program for general education (Early Childhood Education) preferred.
  • Computer literate and technologically proficient. 
  • Highly organized and motivated.
  • Must be eligible for teacher licensure in Virginia.
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing desired

Full-Time Director of Development (Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School, Virginia Beach) – 

Description: Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School in Virginia Beach, VA is currently seeking enthusiastic and dynamic individual to develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive annual giving program, including marketing plans, appeals, and campaigns that utilize a variety of communication channels such as web, direct mail, email, and social media to reach all key constituent groups. This position is charged with creating programs and events designed to strategically identify and cultivate all constituencies in meaningful ways that transition into engaged volunteers and donors and creates a sustainable and growing tradition of annual philanthropic support. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic role model who is passionate about sharing the Catholic faith, capable of working collaboratively with colleagues, and demonstrate a commitment to advance the mission of the school.

Responsibilities:

  • Build sustainable and positive professional relationships with constituents.
  • Analyze programs and produce regular reports on fundraising progress for school leadership.
  • Direct annual solicitation to support the overall school mission
  • Work collaboratively to accurately pull and report data through segmentation, querying, importing and exporting information database.
  • Coordinate annual fund solicitation strategies for prospects, participate in moves management processes and assist in identifying major gift prospects.
  • Jointly manage parent and volunteer efforts related to Saints Appeals, including volunteer identification, recruitment, training and/or stewardship.
  • Oversee the acknowledgement, stewardship, and recognition of annual fund donors (including first time, consecutive, and leadership donors) in ways that facilitate donor retention.
  • Partner in the creation and production of an Annual Report of Philanthropy.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal. 

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with fundraising and annual giving programs
  • Prefer experience equal to working in a Catholic and/or educational setting.
  • Computer literate and technologically proficient. 
  • Highly organized and motivated.
  • Effective Communicator.

Business Manager (Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School, Virginia Beach) – 

Description: Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School in Virginia Beach, VA is currently seeking a Business Manager to support the Principal and Pastor in the management of the school budget, ensure the timely and efficient execution of the financial transactions for the school, maintain all school financial accounts, process new hire information, and maintain related employee/financial databases.

Qualifications: Formal education in accounting; CPA preferred with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. 

  • Expert knowledge of budget preparation, financial reporting, accounts payable, online giving, vendor reporting and reconciliation practices following Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP). 
  • Proficient in technology applications including programs such as UKG, Parish Soft, and Microsoft Office. 
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, and maintain deadlines. 
  • Familiarity with the School mission and commitment to Catholic education
  • Available to work additional hours on some evenings and weekends

Specific Tasks:

  • Maintain all financial accounts: accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing /collection processes, and delivery of timely tuition statements. 
  • Prepare annual budget for review and approval by Principal, Pastor, and Finance Council. 
  • Complete monthly and yearly reports for the Pastor, Principal, and Diocese. 
  • Advise the school Finance Council of outstanding accounts. 
  • Serve on the Financial Aid Committee in the evaluation of family applications. 
  • Collaborate with Diocese in the administration of school finances. 

Start Date: 2021-2022 School Year (immediate hire)

Part Time After School Beyond the Bell Attendant (Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School, Virginia Beach) – 

Description: Immediate opening for limited part time attendants for the “Beyond the Bell” After-School Care Program. The ideal candidate will support after school-care services and interact professionally with both parents and children. Respond directly to physical and emotional needs of each child. Supervise students in age-appropriate activities and programming. Utilize excellent oral and written communications, attention to detail, the ability to monitor enrolled students while providing exceptional customer service to students and families rooted in Christian values. 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Experience with after-care in a school setting preferred
  • Certification in infant, child, and adult CPR/AED preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise drop-off, pick-up, and check-in of children
  • Lead activities and supervise free play
  • Maintain a safe environment
  • Understand and meet employee standards of conduct and ethics
  • Implement building, facilities, service, program, and emergency procedures

Part-time PM Bus Driver (Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School, Virginia Beach) – 

Description: Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School in Virginia Beach, VA is currently seeking part time afternoon bus driver. The successful applicant must be capable of providing safe transportation of students to and/or from school routes; to include transporting/assisting students with boarding and exiting the bus and performing daily safety checks on the bus. Additionally, may support after school-care services and interact professionally with both parents and children at the conclusion of bus duties.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) that would provide the above knowledge, skill, and abilities. 
  • Requires a valid Virginia State Driver’s License
  • Certification in infant, child, and adult CPR/AED preferred

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Responsible for driving a school activity bus on designated routes; to include picking up and dropping off students as scheduled.
  • Assists students board and exit the bus safely at designated pick-ups/stops.
  • Responsible for conducting and records daily pre-trip safety checks on bus and bus components; to include inspecting tires, lights, fuel level, oil levels, and windshield wipers.
  • Responsible for reporting defective equipment immediately.
  • Completes daily and monthly operations reports indicating times, mileage, and routes.
  • Completes bus incident reports as necessary.
  • Cleans interior and exterior of bus by sweeping floors, dusting, and wiping down seats, and cleaning windows.
  • Requires special bus runs as needed; to include evening runs.
  • Meets with parents, teacher, principals, or other school officials on occasion to express and listen to concerns regarding bus operation, scheduling, and safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Start Date: 2021-2022 School Year (immediate hire)

Salary: Hourly rate
