Student Health and Support

The overall health and support of the whole child is a critical element of education at SGGS. Students not only receive top care from our amazing nurse, Mrs. Boze but we also care for their mental health with the support of our on-campus counselor, Mrs. Kruger.

Mrs. Kruger also brings with her our very own registered therapy dog, Ja’Vale! Our health and wellness caregivers are available to all students and staff at any time they might be needed.

Students also receive a wealth of support from our Learning Support faculty. Mrs. Napolitano and Mrs. Gargiulo, or “Mrs. G.” as she’s affectionately known to our students, each play a key role in both in-class learning support as well as child-specific support in the Learning Resource Room.

SGGS also offers G.A.T.E., Gifted and Talented Education, to support our learners who need more of a challenge in their daily work. Students in grades 1 and 2 receive whole-class G.A.T.E. classes while students in grades 3-5 are offered a chance to be a part of the G.A.T.E. program with Ms. Kasiski based on their scores in the classroom and teacher recommendation. Students join Mrs. K. weekly to help with critical thinking and creativity. Learn more about the G.A.T.E. program here.
